COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course is meant to prepare and equip journalism students wishing to explore a career in Television and video production.This course will equip students with skills to enhance their practice in producing news, programs and other productions for television.The course combines theory, and practice; generating programme ideas, style, simplicity, and story structure will be emphasized, hands-on demonstrations, screenings, readings, lectures and discussions.Students will get exposure to the production process through practical use of the university’s television/video equipment and facilities for advanced hands-on experience in using video cameras, video editing equipment and software.Students will work on production assignments individually and in groups from idea development to completed video projects.Classes include an emphasis on research, pre-planning and writing skills as integral components of television production.
